REVIEW

(DNF)

First of all, I want to thank Bishneen from Ebury Publishing for sending me a copy of the book.

Cooper's writing was good. She wrote simply but beautifully and I enjoyed her style (she favored dialogues and monologues). However and unfortunately, I could not get into her story.

This is a book about cheating, something I can't wrap my mind, which made it impossible for me to connect with both of our main characters. They keep on lying to their partners instead of divorcing them and their so-called romance felt incredibly dull and fake for me – it seemed too rushed and fake. Love isn’t solely made of happy moments. People have to be there for you to truly know you and care for you. Their romance happened literally for one day every October. They didn’t even talk to each other for the rest of the year. There was no sparkle there, and so I stopped had to stop reading halfway through.

If anything, this book teaches you a powerful lesson: live your life while you can. Don’t ever postpone your happiness but try not to hurt others while pursuing it either.
